However, the princess is a mighty hot looking babe with a fine body. Barabbas, the criminal that Pontius Pilate induced the populace to vote to set free, so that Christ could be crucified, is haunted by the image of Jesus for the rest of his life. The director is Douglas Sirk, more normally at home with lush melodramas such as MAGNIFICENT OBSESSION or WRITTEN ON THE WIND.
