The old-world elegance mixed with the comfortable ease of the surroundings makes for an unforgettable experience. Own or manage this property? Where else are you able to have a packed afternoon of outdoor activities, and an evening full of decadence and a traditional black tie dinner? Overall a 9.5/10 stay. If you want to stay in your room and relax by a cozy fire, that's fine; if you want to go on a hike, picnic, and an extended boat ride all in the same afternoon, that's fine too.

Top class, 6 star service. During our visit about half of the guests were first-timers like us, and the other half were returning after one or many prior stays; their ages ranged from early 30s to 70s-plus.


About half of the guests were from the New York metro area, the rest from all over the country. Today it is a marvelous union of rustic simplicity and extraordinary luxury. The property: beautiful. The intimate setting and the traditional communal dining is the dream of any adult’s “camp getaway.” The location provides an opportunity to tailor your stay to whatever you want to do.

They are original and frankly didn't work well.

We feel that these things, combined with the wonderful caring staff and high level of service, put The Point at the very top of the list of the finest small resorts in the U.S. -- it's certainly our new favorite.

Though my favorite thing to do is to have lunch on one of the battery operated boats.

Small self drive boats came with a picnic and bottle of wine and we meandered wonderful little ponds and lakes for hours.
