You were a unique and wonderful friend in the short time we met some years ago. The Lawrence Welk show was a staple in our homes every Saturday night when we were growing up, and I continue to watch the reruns on PBS every week.

Feeney's voice is still heard every Saturday night on PBS. The world has lost one of the best tenors ever. May the Shamrocks Fall softlyMy dear mother loved to hear his beautiful voice. Joe Feeney was a tenor singer on the "Lawrence Welk Show" from 1957 to 1982. Not sure what to say? He started singing as a boy alto in St. Mary Cathedral, his parish church choir and after graduating from St. Mary's Cathedral High School, he landed a guest appearance on the show Youth Opportunity Hour. My parents and I watched the Lawrence Welk show from 1954 even to today and all the reruns. What clear and glorious tones he had, whenever he sang. He brought much joy to our family listening to his beautiful voice on Lawrence Welk. Joe sang a few songs for us and we were spellbound with Joe's musical gift. Joe had the ability ro help people through his singing talent.I'm watching him on The Lawrence Welk Halloween special right now and I have it on VHS and I watch it about 30 times every October...Joe, At a young age I could pick out a Great singer. We watched it as a family, and my Dad and I really loved Joe Feeney's rendition of Danny Boy. Never once did I say yes, but who knows. He sang easy-listening and family-oriented music such as the well-known hit, "Danny Boy. My wife and I are both 82, and we have loved Joe Feeney's singing for a lot of years! Thank you Joe. He was 76. His rendition of Irish favorites like "Danny Boy," "Galway Bay," and "When Irish Eyes Are Smiling" will live on in our hearts. His mother Mary supported him in all of his activities. what a guy Though he was an outstanding Irish tenor whose singing I enjoyed for many years, I will always remember Joe most for the way he lived his life...the dedicated husband he was to his wife, the great dad he was to his sons, as well as for the example he set in the way he lived his life as an honorable, moral, and true American patriot. Another thing to remember is that he was great lover of America, as Mr. Welk was. I used to marvel at how proud of Mr. Feeney Mr. Welk was as he introduced him.

One night Dad informed us that the family was invited to the Feeneys because their son Joe was visiting his parents and had been hired by Lawernce Welk.
