it’s a gastro pub priding itself on high quality food and with a high standard of stylish boutique rooms; it’s not selling itself as just a pub with basic rooms. However having seen the rooms and description online, I’d planned to arrive early and enjoy a bit of time in what looked like was going to be a beautiful boutique room - we all live only slightly under a couple of hours away so we could have gone home after the meal, but we all decided to book the night away as a bit of a treat, and chose this place rather than something like the nearby Premier Inn, thinking it would be a bit more special.
