Another stunning remnant of the British Raj in India, the architecture was built by the Prince of Wales in 1906 to commemorate Queen Victoria’s 25 years of rule over India. On 3rd September (Merchant Navy Day) in 1995 for the first time wreaths were laid at the Lascar War Memorial by personnel of the Merchant Navy and Indian Navy which is now an annual feature.
